Since its inception as a spin-off from NTU’s SPIRIT Centre in 2018, TAU has developed a novel AI-enabled Intelligence Analytics technology: Intelligent Case Retrieval System (ICRS™) and implemented projects with clients from various domains.


ICRS™ was initially developed for the Singapore Judiciary via a successful Proof-Of-Concept. This technology has assisted Judges from High Court and State Court in easily extracting relevant data from precedent cases, thus saving significant man-hours and time. In contrast, traditional searches involve Judges and Legal Clerks manually processing and combing for information through large amount of precedent case files.

The Technology Development and Innovation (TDI) Office of Ngee Ann Polytechnic co-ordinates the R&D effort of NP. Its main function is to create, protect and exploit intellectual property and to form strategic links between NP researchers and industry.


TDI facilitates the sourcing and management of research funding, working with industry collaborators where we translate new, innovative technological research into commercially viable products and services that expand markets and profits.


TDI works in collaboration with our Centre of Innovation and Academic Schools to market and license available technologies ranging from the biosciences to engineering in the following categories:

Founded in 2015, The FinLab is an innovation accelerator powered by United Overseas Bank (UOB) and SGInnovate for fintechs and start-ups to develop fit-for-market solutions.
