NATIONAL HEALTH INNOVATION CENTRE SINGAPORELocation: Singapore
The National Health Innovation Centre Singapore (NHIC) is an initiative by National Medical Research Council (NMRC) of the Ministry of Health Singapore to coordinate and support commercialisation activities of the Singapore clinical community. Set up to provide Singapore’s publicly-funded research sector with translational funding and multidimensional assistance to accelerate health innovation, NHIC promotes synergy between clinicians, researchers and industries to develop innovative technologies and services to address the local and global healthcare needs. NHIC also works closely with policy-makers, accreditation boards, and appropriate end-users to set up a network critical to the research translation pathway that can maximise the impact of translational funding, mentoring and partnering services. NHIC aims to improve healthcare delivery and patient care, thus helping Singapore meet the healthcare challenges of tomorrow.
NATIONAL RESEARCH COUNCIL OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGYLocation: South Korea
NST is built to support national research projects and policy and drive development of knowledge industry through supporting, nurturing and systematically managing Government-funded Research Institute (GRI)s.
What NST does is:
- To plan policy and research for development of GRIs
- To adjust and align functions of GRIs
- To evaluate research performance and management details of GRIs
- To support cooperative research between GRIs
- To improve research performance and to help spread the results
- To propose policy for innovation in national S&T and strengthening competitiveness
NATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT AGENCYLocation: Thailand
The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) is a government body under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.
Situated in Thailand Science Park, the country’s first science and technology park, NSTDA was designed to promote innovation development and R&D activities in the private sector and build the ecosystem to support R&D linkage between government and private sector, as well as stimulating the creation of new technology businesses. NSTDA comprises of four national research centers: National Center of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC); National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC); National Electronics and Computer Technology (NECTEC); and National Nanotechnology Center (NANATEC). The Technology Management Center (TMC) plays an important role in technology transfer and links research with the public and private sectors domestically and internationally.
